Writing is one of my passions and is a service offered by h-connect. Essays in particular fascinate me.

The following are three recent examples:

Portraits from Bukavu: A text written in early 2012 (German, 27p, illustrated), gives portrayals of six persons I met during a research mission in the eastern DR Congo. The french translation of this text was discussed again with the presented persons and slightly modified during another visit in winter 2013/14.

Energy Debates: In this text, written in September 2012 (10 p, English), I explore the dynamics of debates on energy issues, particularly which stakeholders represent which interests – and the contradictions in this communication-system.

Connective Journalism: This text (Nov 2012, revised 2014, 5p) examines the question of why Peace Journalism has never established itself in the mainstream media in the 40 years since the concept was first introduced. To overcome this problem I propose a moderate modification to the concept: Journalism focussed on connections - Connective Journalism.
